About Austin Cake Ball

When you’re a creative type, you never know what your medium will be. For Austin Cake Ball co-founder and Austinite Stacey Bridges, it began in the theater as a costumer. Working daily to create period, fantastical and off the wall costumes, Stacey became a master of detail. While touring and working odd hours, Stacey turned her attention to the kitchen and the inventive possibilities and great comfort of cake.

Endless hours of experimenting, a cake decorating class or two, and an extremely popular showing at the Texas Hill Country Food and Wine Festival of 2009, and you have Austin Cake Ball.

For the most part.

Our Team

So, just who is rolling up their sleeves behind the scenes at Austin Cake Ball? Meet our team.

Stacey Bridges: Cake Ball Creator

I created Austin Cake Ball as a continuation of an artistic expression… this time cake instead of fabric. My ideal cake ball is one that is modern, yet simple. Sophisticated in appearance, and ideally lemon or coconut. At Austin Cake Ball, I’m in charge of decorating and making sure each order is beautiful and artistically complete. I love what I do for its unique approach to a fun new product.

Ben May: Cake Ball Strategy

Together with Stacey, I wanted Austin Cake Ball to challenge the notion of what cake could do and where it could go. My ideal cake ball is one of our seasonal flavors. We always go all out for holidays and end up creating amazing things.

At Austin Cake Ball, I’m in charge of business strategy, austincakeball.com, supplier logistics, product development, and… box taping for Whole Foods Market. What I love most about this business is that moment we turn over an order to a customer and see their faces light up. What we’ve been able to accomplish so quickly still amazes me to this day.

Jeremy Fleck: Cake Ball Wrangling

Since joining Austin Cake Ball in August of 2009, I’ve been in charge of special projects as well as playing the role of site operations manager. This involves innovation, creativity and forward thinking.

Oh, and if I had to choose just one cake ball, it would be Red Velvet. Definitely.

Rafael Cisneros: Cake Ball Production

I’m the executive pastry chef here at Austin Cake Ball. Naturally my ideal cake ball is perfect. Round, clean lines, moist cake. Perfection, that’s all.

Kyle Hernandez: Cake Ball Logistics

I came to Austin Cake Ball in July of 2010. Here I’m in charge of the office. My main responsibilities include: taking orders, accounts payable and receivables, and testing cake balls on a daily basis. Such is life…

I love Austin Cake Ball for all of the beautiful work they create. Particularly their German Chocolate and Italian Crème – anything with coconut! I also take pleasure in seeing how happy our customers are when they take home some of our delicious treats and try one of our cake balls for the first time. Love at first bite!
